About the racist incident at OU a few days ago, recall that the university President, David Boren, closed the SAE fraternity and expelled two of its students (the ones identified as leading the chant). Over at American Thinker, Thomas Lifson writes…
The answer to hurt feelings and the legacy of slavery is not the suspension of the Constitution.
I think this is right, and just and so does the ACLU who walked back their initial agreement with Boren’s actions. Reinstate the fraternity and the expelled students and force them to face their peers. Most of us come to our senses the morning after. Let’s hope the those who would compromise the Bill of Rights would do so.
